This month's Ornament Thursday Team has put together some beautiful pieces honoring the theme of...
I am grateful most of all for my kids and my Gratitude Screen is all about them and this lovely season!
My friend (who I am also grateful for) and I hit a junk store a few months back and she purchased us both an old screen for $3 each, and I've been jonesing to make something out of it. I decided to make the display removable so that I can change it out with the seasons. I used some of the clips from the Clip-it-Up to hook into the screen and then clipped it to the paper!
This month's season, fall, bring with it family, home, Thanksgiving, and leaves... and a couple of weeks ago Sean raked the hugest pile of leaves I've ever seen, (like as tall as him, and he's tall!) and the kids spent all afternoon jumping into and playing in the pile!
I used these photos for the screen, printing the largest one on cardstock for a more matte and natural look, (I added the letters in Gratitude to the top of the photo,) and the photo of the two kids at the top in sepia.
This was really easy to do, I just covered the letter G in patterned paper using Mod Podge. Hot glue gunned some fall leaves and berries with fabric and fiber to it, hung a charm from it and wired it on.
I also used LOTS of swap pieces on this project!! I have been in approximately 983046897 swaps and have recently been going through my stash to weed out and reorganize, and have come across some pieces I thought it was time to use. The two leaves in the photo above came from a stamped images swap... I just cut them up and inked the edges and used some foam tape behind them and they look great. In the photo below is a border I made for a Karen Foster swap ages ago. It's got a tree stamped on a piece of metal and embossed in copper embossing powder. I also inked up the top and bottom torn pieces and embossed them in copper as well.
(Wish these photos came out better, because I REALLY LOVE the way this came out!)
And my OT Sisters are showing a little gratitude, too... check 'em out!!!!
